I loved the Vonnegut piece on Art Dogs! I also love dogs and Vonnegut, so duh, but I also appreciate this palpable passion from both of you.

HAWAII? Jealous. I went there about ten years ago. Had a great time but was sorely lacking in chocolate.

Which island/s? Hawaii actually has an increasingly thriving cacao growing and chocolate making scene now... stay tuned!!

It was a blitz - Oahu, Hawaii, Kauai, Maui. Oahu was a bit too city for me. Hawaii had the most epic day-long road trip (went to the South Point, then Volcanoes National Park, then Rainbow Falls, and finished by visiting the Mauna Kea Visitor Observatory, bring a jacket if you go). Kauai's Napali Coast was beautiful, though riding on a catamaran tested my stomach. And I did a dive off of Maui, which was beautiful.

Now I need to go back for a chocolate tasting tour, it seems.

Molokini? (off Maui) I've been on all islands except for Oahu, mainly for the reason you mention. Kauai and Maui both offer cacao tours (can get you those names) and the Big Island I believe also does. And Manoa Chocolate is on Oahu, for reference the next time you go!

Yeah, the dive was around Molokini, but the boat kept its distance as it's a bird sanctuary I believe. Even though the next trip will be a chocolate tour I intend to get my nature fix in as well!
